Reshaping the Employment Landscape for Neurodivergent Students

Information & Cocktail Reception

Phoenix, AZ | Thursday, March 28, 2024 | 4:30 – 6:00 PM MT

Join us for a moving discussion and presentation about the work that UConn and Wells Fargo are doing to improve employment outcomes for neurodivergent individuals. Judy Reilly, Director of the Center for Neurodiversity and Employment Innovation (CNDEI) at UConn, and Stephen DeStefani, Program Executive for the Wells Fargo Neurodiversity Program, will describe the journey this partnership has taken to have an unparalleled impact in changing the employment landscape for bright, talented people with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other learning differences.

Five individuals hired at Wells Fargo through the program will share their personal employment journeys, which promises to be a moving experience for all in attendance.

Light refreshments will be served as you learn what UConn’s Center for Neurodiversity & Employment Innovation (CNDEI) and Wells Fargo are doing to change the future of employment for neurodivergent college students and graduates. Following a brief presentation to get everyone up to speed on the work, Wells Fargo program participants share their stories and we open up to a group discussion and Q&A.

We invite employers, parents, and anyone for whom the topic of learning differences is important to join us for this special event. Businesses will come away with pathways to education and training, and families will find inspiration in the work that is being done.

Highlights for the evening include learning how:

  • Neurodiversity Employment programs that are well executed can enable competitive advantages in organizations and positively impact employees’ work experiences.
  • Employer education & training in neurodiversity delivered by UConn CNDEI helps companies understand how to hire, integrate, and retain neurodivergent employees, as seen through our partnership with Wells Fargo’s Neurodiversity Program.
  • UConn CNDEI’s delivery of more targeted career services for neurodivergent college students—and its leadership of 80+ colleges and universities—better prepares those candidates for their job search.
